Veterinary Technicians (T1)

The nursing team at SVRC/The Pet Emergency Room makes up 50% of our staff. They are important members of our team and key to our outstanding patient care and client service. The main responsibility of the veterinary technicians is patient care. As leader of the ICU team, he/she needs to make sure that the patients’ needs are met while at SVRC/The Pet Emergency Room. They are also entrusted with mentoring and teaching the rest of the staff.

Veterinary Technicians must have a minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience as veterinary technician and completed an associate-level degree from accredited school. Professional license/certification highly preferred. To succeed at SVRC/The Pet Emergency Room, veterinary technicians should have specialized or advanced knowledge in laboratory techniques, inventory skills, understanding of ICU veterinary medicine, imaging, veterinary equipment, computer skills. They must also have proven leadership and communications skills, and exceptional customer service.
